Buffalo Bill is a psychopath, and he is murdering young women across the Midwest. The FBI decides to send in Agent Clarice Starling to interview a demented prisoner. He is a psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal Lector. Hannibal may know the whereabouts of Buffalo Bill, but in order for Starling to get that information, Hannibal wants something in return, details on her own life. Will Starling have the courage to go through with all of this, or will there just be no way in her stopping anything?
Alright, I love this movie so I am giving it four skulls. Cannibals are amazing! I just love cannibals, or at least movies with them. Hannibal Lector is awesome! I love his accent, and Anthony Hopkins (guy who plays Hannibal) is an amazing actor! Along with that, the story line was really good too. My first time watching this movie, the story line made sense. Now, I've seen this movie so many times before, but the part I still don't understand is how Hannibal knows Buffalo Bill and his possible whereabouts, but other than that I really did enjoy the movie along with understanding it. Now, one thing I love about the movie is the set up of where Hannibal is located. It is highly secured, and the people locked up in cells on the same hall as Hannibal just act insane. I just love movies with cannibals and mental hospitals, so this movie was just perfect for me.
Now, one thing I will say about this movie is even though Hannibal is a cannibal, there isn't a lot of gore in this movie. There is some gore where Buffalo Bill does weird things to his victims and then seeing their dead bodies. Except for Hannibal the most gore you'll get out of him is in one part he's trying to escape this room and so in order to he bites a guys nose and he does it hard because blood comes out of it. Other than that and Buffalo Bill with his victims, there really isn't much more gore in the movie.
There definitely was suspense in this movie and I think anyone that watches it, even if there isn't a lot of gore in this movie, you'll still get hooked to the movie and love it. I am a HUGE gore lover, and even though this movie didn't have a lot of gore, I still really enjoyed the story line. Now, the effects in the movie were good, and the acting was just really good. I don't really give a whole lot of credit to acting in movies, but this one just had really good acting and it's just really standing out for me in this movie. It might be because I love Hannibal Lectors accent, or it was just really good in general, I don't know why but the acting in this movie just seemed to stand out for me.
Overall this was a really good movie and I really enjoyed it. I think a lot of people who watch this movie will definitely like this movie. This is a first in a sequel, so I would recommend watching this one first. I would also like to say that this movie definitely didn't scare me, but for some there is a chance it may scare them or maybe disturb some people. For me at least, I loved this movie and I definitely recommend it and think others should watch it too. Trust me, you'll definitely enjoy this movie and what Hannibal has to bring.
