Skulls: 2 skulls

You thought he may have died in the first movie, but he came back out of Hell and he's back on Elm Street! Five years after Nancy leaves Elm Street, a teenage boy named Jessie moves in along with his family. Things seem pretty normal at first, but then, things begin to get just a little bit weird. Freddy is back, and he wants Jessie to kill for him. Will Jessie do it, or will he never sleep again?
Okay, this movie I am giving two skulls and I definitely rated this movie in an unusual way compared to how I rate other movies. First off I would like to point out that Nightmare on Elm Streets is definitely at the top for my favorite horror films. I watched them out of order to be honest, so watching this one definitely was confusing. This movie definitely has a completely different story line then all the other movies. For starters, Nancy isn't in this movie, just her house and some diary she wrote in that nobody knew about in the first movie. This was definitely weird to the story line. Another weird thing about the story line was that Freddy was asking a kid to kill for him. Instead of killing all of these kids himself, he was asking one to kill for him. This was definitely weird because this isn't how Freddy rolls. Another messed up part of the movie is Freddy comes out of nowhere at a party and starts killing all these kids and ALL OF THEM ARE AWAKE! No one ever pulled Freddy out of their dream and they were awake so this definitely is going against the rules of Freddy and I DON'T LIKE THAT!
Okay, now that I got that out of the way, let me tell you more about this movie. This was definitely the worst of the Nightmare on Elm Streets. I hate even thinking there's one that's bad, but there is and this is it. To be honest, you don't even need to watch this movie. You can skip right to the third one if you want to because this one doesn't really have anything to do with the first one.
Now, this movie did have good suspense and the music went great with it. The effects were definitely good I can't complain about those. Freddy did a great job killing kids! I enjoyed him murdering each and every one of them! Now one thing I didn't like about Freddy (I can't believe I'm saying this) is his eyes were red. Now he has a red and green sweater, his skin is red, so his eyes being red were definitely a little too much red for me. I think his eyes should've stayed Robert Englund's original eye color which is green.
Now the movie wasn't bad. What made it bad was the fact that it had nothing to do with the first movie and you could definitely tell that it was made in a hurry. Now watching the movie, it was good. The reason I rated this one so differently and it has a lower skull rating than the other ones is because the story line was so different and it definitely didn't make a lot of sense compared to the first movie. I did mostly rate this the same way I do with other films but I had to make a few slight changes to rating this one due to how different it is.
There is one other thing I would like to point out about this movie. (THIS MAY OFFEND SOME PEOPLE AND JUST KNOW THAT I AM NOT TRYING TO BE OFFENSIVE TO ANYONE THIS IS JUST SOMETHING I AM POINTING OUT AND NOT AN OPINION! DO NOT GIVE ME HATE FOR WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY, KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT MY OPINION!) I was watching a four hour film on the making of all the Nightmare on Elm Streets and as they were talking about the second one they said that it advertises gayness. I never noticed this watching the movie before but until I saw the film on the making of this film and then watching the second one after it I definitely noticed. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, I have nothing against gay people, but I'm just saying that as a random fact about the movie.
Overall this movie was okay. I wouldn't recommend going to see it unless you want to REALLY watch these movies in order. It definitely didn't scare me, but for some little kids it may. Now, I'm not totally trashing on the movie it isn't that bad, but it's definitely not the best Nightmare on Elm Street. Now then whatever you do, Don't. Fall. Asleep.
